The USA had as many viewings as UK, yesterday and today! Thankyou U.S.A. !


(Actually this is my second effort as writing my Blog today.... I tried on my iPad, but I managed to delete it by mistake!!!!... so back to the laptop..)


Sooooo.... Today: two major things.


Firstly, I have consulted with an estate agent, re letting my home, as I feel that moving is the best move for me... watch this space.... !


BUT THE very, very, best event today was that Tom (Palmer), my author neighbour, rang to  ask if he could come in for a cuppa. He arrived and gave me a gift of some Fair-Trade chocs,,, YUM.... BUT he also gave me a copy of his latest book, out on May 3rd.."BLACK OP".....
and .....he has dedicated it to me!    The dedication says, "To Nikki Woodman, lovely neighbour, lovely friend, lovely woman."  
WOW how wonderful !    I was so moved. 
Tom had dedicated a book to me some years ago,(I think,as I had helped proof-read), so this was a tremendous surprise, completely out of the blue, and I did cry.. 
Thankyou Tom. You made my day, and  you certainly gave me a big hug!

PIED BEAUTY

This title refers to a poem by Gerard  Manley Hopkins. The first line of which is " Glory be to God for dappled things....."
It's all about the value of perfection... or not.... ie things that are not just perfect but are, actually of value. 
My body is no longer perfect but that doesn't mean than my life can't be of value.
It's so hard balancing things... needing a stair lift etc... but still being a "proper " person in my own right.
At the risk of boring you , I have to say I am a normal person when I paint... and yet have to balance this against when (for example), I do go out. 
Today I went to Eden Spa for a massage... really did feel so unsteady and actually have looked at wheel-chairs, on line, tonight. I simply can't believe how fast the progress of this horrible illness is. My legs are now so, so weak... and get weaker daily. I am so pleased that my stair-lift will be here tomorrow morning... imagine, 6 months ago this would have been  totally out of my thoughts, and indeed provoked laughter!


But going back to Pied Beauty, I am graced with the thoughts that there is value in life... OK I have to make adjustments (and they are big ones) but these count for nothing as against the value simply living, and enjoying the life I have. Friends , like you, my readers.... in UK, USA and Canada make me feel valued and give me such support in the face of this sadness. So, Thankyou, each one of you...  all 2050 readers,...... so far.

MY BLOG, MY STUDIO

Today i note in the stats, that I have had nearly 2000 hits . Thankyou! People who follow in the USA , do contact me... do you have MND too? 
It's interesting for me to see how many people watch , follow and where they are in the world.
Rebecca also said today, the Blog is good because we can see how you are doing and not bother with multiple phone calls. 
I have lots of calls and welcome them... but please call again if I don't answer as I have so many people to respond to and can't keep track properly of everuone. It's not tthat I don't what to chat but it's that the phone rings at an inconveient moment,  I might not even be able to get to phone before it switches to answer, or I'm resting... hope you understand.
Tomorrow will be a painting day and a visit from Estelle and Elaine... so looking froward to seeing them... and hope they won't mind me being in painting clothes... clean, already set out for tomorrow... but v paint splattered!!


Now including so pictures of my studio (starting with chandelier, which you will either love or hate!)... hope you like the glimpses of the works in progress!
